| About the Ben Hur Trailblazers: |
The Trailblazers Unit was founded in 1980. The members of this Unit ride Honda 70cc Three Wheel Bikes in parades and in competition at the Texas Shrine Association convention each year. In addition to the local parades, the Unit makes weekend trips to participate in special parades in Del Rio and Laredo. We also compete in an annual scheduled obstacle course competition sponsored by the Texas Shrine Motor Patrol Association.
Members of the Trailblazers are very active, participating in all Ben Hur activities including; the Circus, Blood Drive, Volunteer work at Brackenridge Hospital, Annual Hospital Fund Drive, Dances at the Temple, Annual Fish Fry, Temple Ceremonials, etc.
Age is not a factor in qualifying to become a member. When sensibly operated, our vehicles are very safe and really fun to operate. In addition to riding our bikes, good fellowship is one of our main objectives. We normally have a Unit sponsored dance, a picnic, Christmas party and other unscheduled socials during the year.
