About the Ben Hur Legion of Honor:
The purpose of the Legion of Honor is:

  • to foster a spirit of patriotism and love of our country and national flag
  • to perpetuate the memory of those who died in the service of the armed forces of the Unites States of America and her allies
  • to participate in parades and other Temple sponsored functions
  • to build good will and prestige for Ben Hur Temple and further interest in the Legion of Honor
  • to promote good fellowship among the members of Ben Hur Temple, the Legion of Honor and Shrinedom in general.
The Legion of Honor meets on the first Thursday of the month, beginning at 7 pm. A covered dish dinner usually precedes the regular meeting. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Regular active members of the Legion of Honor consist of Nobles of Ben Hur Temple who are in good standing and have served in the Armed Forces of the United States, or any nation or government recognized as our Allies at the period of such service and were honorably discharged, or are still serving in the Armed Forces. The applicant must be elected to membership by a two-thirds majority of the voting members present at any regular meeting.
